The proposed Channel Island Internal wave experiment will investigate the ubiquitous internal tidal waves found on Bight Island slopes. This experiment will take advantage of existing thermograph arrays maintained by the Channel Islands National Park, adding an instrumented mooring to record temperature variations in the water column that will be correlated to those recorded with a nearby, bottom-mounted array.
Status: Data are being analyzed
Triply redundant thermographs were depolyed 10/29/2008 at Landing Cove, Anacapa. approximately 50 m from shore at depths of 0, 25 and 52 ft and retrieved at 6, 25 and 45 ft. after collecting approximately 1900 hours
